How it works

The Psychiatry Consultation Line (PCL) helps providers who are seeking clinical advice regarding adult patients (18+) with mental health and/or substance use disorders.

Providers call 877-WA-PSYCH (877-927-7924) and after a short intake with a UW health navigator, are connected to a UW psychiatrist. At the conclusion of the conversation, the UW psychiatrist sends deidentified, written documentation of the consultation and recommendations to the caller via email.

All prescribing providers in Washington state can call the consult line, including those working in primary care clinics, community hospitals and emergency departments, substance use treatment centers and county and municipal correctional facilities

The Psychiatry Consultation Line (877-927-7924) is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is funded by the State of Washington and administered by the Washington State Health Care Authority.
