How It Works

The Psychiatry Consultation Line helps care providers in Washington who are seeking clinical advice regarding adult patients (18+) with mental health and/or substance use conditions.

  1. As a care provider in Washington treating an adult patient with a behavioral health challenge, you call 877-WA-PSYCH (877-927-7924)
  2. A UW health navigator will ask a few intake questions about you and your patient (about two minutes)
  3. You’re connected to a UW psychiatrist. During the call, you’ll share details about your case and the psychiatrist will give you feedback and recommendations (usually around 15 minutes or less)
  4. The UW psychiatrist follows up with a de-identified, written documentation of the consultation and recommendations to the caller via email

Non-prescribing care providers: Call between 8-5, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).

Prescribing providers may call any time, 24/7

The PCL is funded by the State of Washington and administered by the Washington State Health Care Authority.
